St David's Mixed A Team once again secured the overall Welsh Schools Ski Championship title. This outstanding achievement also means the team has automatically qualified for the British Schools Ski Championships, which will take place in Scotland over the November Exeat weekend
The event marked a special milestone for Ski Team Captain Louis Barclay, who has represented St David’s College since Year 5. Louis previously achieved individual success at the British Schools Ski Championships, winning the overall boys’ competition last year.
Reflecting on the event and his years representing the College, Louis said:
“I’m very proud of our team, and it was great to see some new faces competing.
“I’ve got some very fond memories of competing over the years for St David’s. We’ve had great times, and thanks always to Mr Demery for taking us all to these events, and to Mrs Demery for all of her Olympic breakfasts before the races.”
As Louis concludes his Welsh Schools Championship journey, the College would like to thank him for his outstanding contribution to the Ski Team and for being such a brilliant ambassador for St David’s over the years.
We'd also like to thank Hudson, who is a qualified World Cup Ski Technician, for waxing, sharpening and tuning the skis of our team. Hudson who is usually an integral part of the team, unfortunately couldn't compete to retain his title as he's currently injured.
Congratulations to Louis, Mya, Camilla, Amelia, Mary, George, Archie, Moses and Paddy on a fantastic achievement. We wish the Mixed A Team every success as they prepare to represent St David’s College at the British Schools Ski Championships in Scotland!
