Admissions Process

Choosing a school is a big decision for a family. We aim to make the process as straightforward as possible.

St. David's College is a non-selective school and as such we do not require prospective pupils to sit an entrance examination; nor do we base our decision on a child's previous academic record. We look for bright, enthusiastic children with plenty of potential who are motivated to learn, likely to get involved in lots of activities, and who we believe will thrive as part of the St. David's community.

The best way to familiarise yourself with St. David’s College is to visit our beautiful school campus and grounds, where you can experience the welcoming atmosphere first hand. You'll have opportunities to speak to our Headmaster, teachers and pupils, and generally 'get a feel' for life as a pupil at the school.

We're always delighted to hear from prospective parents and would encourage you to contact us with any questions or to arrange to visit the school. We welcome applications throughout the school year and our Registrar and admissions team will ensure that the transition to the new school is smooth and seamless.

Ms. Samantha Chandran

Registrar

Welcome to Admissions

As Registrar and a mother of two St. David's College pupils, Samantha has first hand knowledge of the admissions process from both perspectives and is available to help prospective families with any questions.

"We understand what an important decision choosing the right school for your child is and I am very happy to answer any queries you may have. We recognise that entrusting your child to a school is a privilege. St David’s College is able to offer quality education alongside excellent pastoral care within beautiful surroundings where children’s individual strengths and talents are nurtured.

"The ‘whole person’ approach, enabling children to develop and reach their potential, is adopted throughout the school which increases self-confidence and prepares our children for life beyond their school years. I look forward to your contact and supporting you through the admissions process."

The Process - Step by Step

Complete an application form

Submit an application form expressing your interest in sending your child to St David’s College. Once we have received your completed form, we will request that you provide a School Report from your child’s current school along with any supporting information or educational references to help your child’s admission.

You can download the application form directly, but if you'd like to request the form in a different format or have any queries about the application process please feel free to email admissions@stdavidscollege.co.uk.

Visit the school

Attend an Open Day or Personal Tour - you're welcome to visit us before or after you submit your initial application

We would recommend that you attend an Open Day as part of your admissions journey. This will give the best and most rounded view of the school. You will have an opportunity to hear from our Headmaster and other members of the Teaching staff as well as to meet current pupils and see our stunning school grounds.

Register for an Open Day

If it is not possible to attend an Open Day, we would be happy to host you and your child on a personal tour of the school. Please email admissions@stdavidscollege.co.uk to make arrangements.

We can also arrange taster days and boarding tasters for your child.

Interview with the headmaster

After we have received all the relevant information, your child will be invited for an informal, friendly conversation with the Headmaster. These can take place either at the school or online, and are designed to give the Headmaster the chance to get a better understanding of the individual.

Formal offer and acceptance

After the interview, if we feel that the prospective pupil and St David’s College are a good fit for each other, an offer of a place will be made in writing. For that place to be secured, the Acceptance Form and deposit must be returned. Acceptance forms will be included with the offer of a place.

Members of the UK Armed Forces can benefit from our Forces Families programme.
