Medical Centre
The Medical Centre (known as ‘San’) provides comprehensive medical care and support for pupils, with a strong focus on health and wellbeing. Our team includes four trained nurses with expertise across paediatric, general and mental health care, alongside a matron who supports pupils in both the boarding houses and Medical Centre.
Our wraparound approach brings together health, wellbeing and education, helping pupils to be supported within their school environment and to thrive both personally and academically. For boarders, the Medical Centre works closely with the boarding team to support pupils’ individual health and wellbeing needs.
Pupils also have access to private counselling and holistic wellbeing support within the Medical Centre, supporting their physical, emotional and mental health throughout their time at St David’s.
A General Practitioner visits the school for appointments once a week, and pupils can attend the local GP practice. The door to ‘San’ is always open as a confidential ‘friend’.
‘San’ staff also work closely with the Pastoral team as part of the Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) Programme.
Boarders are encouraged to transfer to the school’s GP when they join the school. In line with legislation, all records and discussions are confidential.
