New social hub opens to rave reviews

Pupils can enjoy a game of pool or darts or unwind with friends while watching films or listening to music on the big screen. There is also an attractive outdoor area. The horse box will soon be serving drinks and popular tuck shop treats.

So far, the Hub has received an overwhelmingly positive response from pupils. Year 12  Will, commented: “The Hub has already brought the school community together. “It’s nice to see people you wouldn’t normally chat to, and the atmosphere is great.”

Year 13 Sean added: “It means we can socialise more, and I feel more connected to everyone in the Sixth Form.”

Head Girl Lucie said: “I think it’s something we’ve needed for a long time and it’s great that everyone has been brought together.”

Headmaster Mr Andy Russell also praised the initiative: “I’m really pleased to have extended our leisure facilities at the school.

“The Hub has already enhanced the community feel, both during the day and in the evenings for boarders.

“It’s nice to see it already being well used, and the atmosphere was great last night as there was quite a competitive game of darts going on!”

He also expressed gratitude to the team behind the project: “A huge thanks to the Estates Team almost all the work was done in-house, and they’ve done a fantastic job.”

With its relaxed vibe, the new Hub looks set to become a cornerstone of social life at the school.
