Published: 16.02.2023 ( a year ago )

Last month three St David’s College pupils attended the Welsh Alpine Championships at Les Crosets, Switzerland.

Agatha Favill (yr9), Teagan Girling (yr10), and Louis Barclay (yr9) headed out to the Swiss Alps with the Welsh National Ski Team ahead of competing at the championships that saw school children from across the country in attendance. The 2023 Championships consisted of five days of competition with training facilities made available to clubs in the resort in the build-up to the championships.

Our pupils came home with a raft of medals. In the Giant Slalom, Agatha finished 7th overall and 2nd in the U14’s and Welsh U14’s categories. Teagan claimed 2nd place in the Welsh U16 category. Louis Barclay finished 10th in the Welsh U14s category.

In the Slalom, Agatha finished 11th overall and 2nd in the Welsh U14s. Teagan finished 3rd in the Welsh U16s category. Louis Barclay finished 6th in the Welsh U14s category.

Headmaster Mr Andrew Russell said “All of our skiers have earned our utmost admiration. They have put in a lot of effort and exemplified the St David’s "never give up" attitude.”

Well done everyone
