Carrying everything they needed to survive they travelled as a team, looking after themselves, their equipment and navigating between checkpoints.
A late season burst of warm weather certainly helped, with the group experiencing some wonderful views by day and a full moon by night. Great camping conditions, (even if it did get a little damp towards the end!).
The expedition is a key part of the Award and although each individual has to carry their own equipment, the success of the expedition all depends of the group working together, looking after each other and keeping each other going.
Many of the Year 13s are now well on the way to completing the Award and have their sights set on going to Buckingham Palace to receive their Awards from HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
