St David’s College is hugely proud to announce that Amelie Chandran (year 8) has been selected to represent Wales in Badminton.

Amelie will be competing in the upcoming U15 Quadrangular Series 2022 taking place in Dublin, Ireland from the 28th April – May 1st.

Despite a COVID hit few years Amelie has not let that stand in the way of her progress and her selection is a true testament her hard work and determination.

“I’m really excited to be going to Dublin to play in this tournament, I can’t wait,” Amelie said “I’m looking forward to meeting all of the other players there, it’s going to be a lot of fun”

Mrs Elle Jones, PE & Sports Teacher and Head of Year 8 & 9 at St David’s College, said:

“We’re all so happy that Amelie has been selected to play for Wales Badminton. She’s incredibly dedicated and is an absolute pleasure to have here at St David’s. It’s a huge honour for her, she fully deserves it - it’s great to see her hard work paying off”

At St David’s College, we pride ourselves on the support and structure that we build for all of our pupils. This doesn’t stop at the classroom door. We continue this into the gym and beyond by building bespoke training schedules that give our pupils the tools they need to succeed.

Amelie’s The call up to represent Wales marks the latest in a series of sporting triumphs for St David’s College pupils in recent years. With significant facilities upgrade plans to be unveiled in the very near future preparing the site for the next generation, the future is looking very bright for St David’s College.
