House Raft Race '21

Published: 20.09.2021 ( 2 years ago )

This weekend saw the return of the annual House Raft Race. All three houses Cader, Snowdon, and Tryfan were challenged to build their own rafts from scratch and paddle them out onto Llyn Padarn in the stunning surroundings of Llanberis.

Set against the clock, each team of eight had to paddle their raft out to the bridge, round a buoy, and back to the shore. The timer didn’t stop until the raft had been dismantled and neatly organised.

All this took place under the watchful eye of our Head of Outdoor Education, Mr. Martin, and the rest of his team. All of our pupils had a fantastic afternoon of fun on the water – and best of all, all the rafts stayed afloat!

The winners on the day were Tryfan House, with Snowdon in second place, and Cader in third. Huge congratulations to all who took part.

Special thanks to Oliver Chandran, Ms. Chandran, and Mr. Demery for their fabulous photos.
