A day to remember

Published: 26.06.2023 ( 10 months ago )

Records were broken, and all our sporting stars shone on the track and in field events .It was heart-warming to see how everyone supported each other, and to see how proud they were representing their houses

Congratulations to the victors Tryfan House, you made your house parent Nick Cogger very proud.

Cader came second and Snowdon in third place.

Director of Sport, Mr Dan Lycett said:

"What a day. A change from our traditional venue, but one that brought with it a bumper sport day.

The day is always a crescendo of the sporting year, that's seen around two hundred fixtures, competitions, and events.

The change of venue and the weather could have been stumbling blocks, but as usual the school, staff, parents, and students took it all in their stride!

The highlight of the day must be the sight of seeing all eight lanes taken up for the 4x400 meter relay. An event that usually only sees three teams this year attracting multiple age groups all vying for the honour of beating the staff!

The day was carried by Tryfan house and a jubilant Mr Cogger who both literally and metaphorically passed on the baton to Dr Hughes (big shoes to fill).

A huge thank you to all who attended, parents who cheered on the pupils and the amazing pupils who made the day the genuine success it was.

Please keep an eye on our social media where we will be paying homage to the day and especially to all those who broke records."
