The Advanced Certificate in CADD (Computer Aided Draughting and Design) will develop a comprehensive level of knowledge and practical skills in traditional CADD topics, as well as the more advanced features of modern software.

Pupils will also develop knowledge and understanding of the design process, and of how CADD can help in achieving a desirable design solution.

This SQA Advanced Level CADD course allows students to specialise in disciplines such as Visualisation and Animation, Feature-Based Modelling, Product and Industrial Design, Graphical Design, CAD Systems Management, Prototyping, Manufacturing, and Materials. Students will also develop analysis and synthesis skills.

Employment and Progression Opportunities - Having achieved the Advanced Level CADD, students could go on to employment as a CADD Technician/Operator or Junior Designer in a variety of industries including: Architecture and Construction; Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Fabrication, and Manufacturing); Furniture and Interior Design and Product Design.
