Emily is running in honour of her dad, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August 2022
Sadly, after his symptoms went untreated for too long, the cancer spread throughout his body.
Despite undergoing two rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, he has now been given the heartbreaking news that his cancer is terminal.
To raise money for vital research, Emily has set herself a daunting challenge. Having never been a runner before, and after taking a five-year break from exercise while raising her two young children, she has chosen to tackle one of the world's most demanding races.
She said: "I've never been on a run before, so I've chosen something that I know is going to be incredibly difficult. It won't come close to replicating even half the pain my dad has been through, but I want to do everything I can to support the fight against prostate cancer.
"I know it's going to be hard, and people have told me it might not even be achievable, but I know I can do it."
