Sports Day 2022

Published: 25.06.2022 ( 2 years ago )

Yesterday we have enjoyed our first sports day back at Eirias Park since COVID19.

It has the first sports day back in Colwyn Bay since 2018; indeed, it was the first St David’s Sports Day for many of our students!

The day also have marked the last opportunity for our boarders to represent their House and be part of the House community. It has been such a very special day.

The day started as a normal school day for everyone. Students arrived at school at 8:30am wearing their uniform PE kit. After registration with their form tutors, the House Captains held their team talk as an assembly and checked participants were event ready! Students were then transported to the venue via the school mini-buses.

The participants of each competition have been selected by The House Masters and House Captains.

The event started full of excitement with the sprinters, long jumpers, javelin throwers, shot putters and long distance runners giving their maximum. It was incredible to see so much friendship and sportsmanship on the track!

Deli wraps and salads have been provided for students and staff at lunchtime. Whilst our athletes were taking a break leading an opportunity for parents to get involved in a 100m sprint competition.

The afternoon continued with the amazing performance of our pupils, leaving fantastic memories for eternity and a great taste in the mouth to end the year.
