At the beginning of the year, he decided to lose weight and so far since New Year’s Day he has lost 31 pounds!
Rev, Sam said: “Sometimes, the things that trouble us can hold us back.
"So, a really good way of overcoming difficulties is to use them to your advantage. Losing weight can be difficult, so why not do something good with it?”
He continues: “Before half term, I was asked by some of the pupils if I would cover mental health in our school assemblies.
“We had done a term on friendship, looking at the different aspects of friendship, and so thought it would be a good idea to do a theme around mental health.
“This is something I have struggled with in the past myself, so I knew how important it was.”
It didn’t take much persuasion for Rev. Sam to sign up to do 100 Miles in March for Mind. He’s aiming to walk five miles a day from Monday to Friday.
Throughout March I am aiming for five miles a day, Monday to Friday.
“I set a target to raise £150 but this was exceeded within 24 hours,” said Rev. Sam.
“Thanks to all the people who have supported me so far.”
The target set by mind is £150, but this was exceeded within 24 hours. There has already been a tremendous amount of generosity and support from friends, family, and staff of the college.
