Position type: Full Time
St David's College is looking to recruit two residential assistants to live and work in a boarding house environment at St David’s College, Llandudno, North Wales. The school is co-educational, and therefore we require one female residential assistant to work in our girls' boarding house, and one male residential assistant to work in one of three boys' boarding houses.
The successful candidates' main responsibilities will be to supervise and care for pupils during the evenings and weekends as part of a duty team within the boarding community. During the day there will be opportunities to work with the Outdoor Education and PE departments and also an expectation to help from time to time with academic lessons.
Accommodation and food (term time only) are provided as part of the contractual terms and the salary is commensurate to the post, which would typically suit an individual who is seeking some experience prior to entering the teaching or Outdoor Education/Sport professions.
We would be looking to appoint at least one graduate sports assistant to work within the sports department as well as support within the boarding house alongside the pastoral team. Ideally this candidate would hold a strength and conditioning degree or similar.
The post is for one academic year in the first instance but could be extended further depending on the willingness and capabilities of the candidate.
Due to the nature of this position, it is exempt from the Equalities Act 2010 with female members of staff being required for the girls’ boarding area and male staff for the boys'.
Start date: September 2025
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references.
