Residential Sports Assistant - MALE (S&C)

St David's College is looking for a residential assistant to live and work in a boy’s boarding house at St David’s College, Llandudno, North Wales. The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will be to supervise and care for pupils during the evenings and weekends as part of a duty team within the boarding community. During the day there will be opportunities to work with the Outdoor Education and PE departments and also an expectation to help from time to time with academic lessons.

The Resident Sports Assistant (Strength & Conditioning) will work closely with the Director of Sport and the Director of the Curriculum and Housemaster to provide valuable support to the delivery of an extensive weekly sports and wider-curricular boarding programme. You will be assigned a Mentor for the academic year who will advise on your professional development and working with pupils. The post holder will be committed to developing and establishing exceptional work ethic, enjoyment in Physical Activity in line with our Model, positive attitudes, and enthusiasm in our pupils.

Accommodation and food (term time only) are provided as part of the contractual terms and the salary is commensurate to the post, which would typically suit an individual who is seeking some experience prior to entering the teaching or Outdoor Education professions.

The post is for one academic year in the first instance but could be extended further depending on the willingness and capabilities of the candidate.

Due to the nature of this position, it is exempt from the Equalities Act 2010 with male members of staff being required for the boy’s boarding area.
