Tune in to watch Sydney on BBC's Countryfile

Millions of people from across the UK will soon be tuning in to see SDC pupil Sydney on BBC’s Countryfile programme.

Since the age of eight, Sydney has had a passion for taxidermy and is already making quite a name for herself in what is very much a male dominated world.

When the story about her rather unusual hobby appeared in the Daily Post newspaper, here in North Wales, the 16-year-old suddenly found herself appearing in the likes of The Times and Telegraph newspapers and on the BBC News website.

“The phone just didn’t stop ringing for a couple of weeks,” admitted Sydney with a smile.

“Then I think on the back of all this Countryfile got into touch and the presenter Ellie Harrison came to the house to film me working on a piece specially for the programme, she was very good company.”

Ellie and the film crew spent an entire day filming and speaking to Sydney about her passion.

“I was having a few problems with the pheasant but I’m pleased to say I got there in the end.”

Tune in to watch Sydney on BBC1 November 24, at 5.15pm.
