Cubs shine in Merseyside rain.

It was an early start for the U15’s this Saturday as they travelled to St Edwards school In Liverpool for a 10:00am KO. A few delays setting off meant there was very little time to warm up, however this didn’t effect the Cubs too much as they managed to draw first blood through the blistering pace of Louis G. Some excellent defending then followed this for the majority of the first half, along with fly half Jamie B controlling the game and playing the ball into the right areas of the pitch. This meant that we went in at the break leading three tries to one. The St Davids pack as strong as ever, proving too much for the home side in the second half and dominated the break down- this meant St Edwards were unable to string long phases of play together or get quick ball. Discipline however let the travelling Cubs down and mid way through the second half, allowing St Edwards an easy rout back into the game. This didn’t worry the cool heads of Jamie B and Cai R who carried hard, upped the pace took the game into the next gear, ultimately grinding out a hard earned victory.<
