Cubs keep up perfect record.

Saint Davids U14’s traveled to Bryn Elian for the second time this season. Despite a muddy pitch and tricky conditions both teams played some good attacking rugby.

Due to the opposition being depleted SDC played several players out of position. With this in mind Bryn Elian struck early with quick feet and slow defence. It took a further two try’s for SDC to wake up.

At this point the game came alive with direct running from their pack; Maguire and Hughes proving hard to stop.

In the second half SDC Cubs lost influential fly half Appleton (we hope he ravovers soon!) and the abrasive Riley stepped in a 10. The Cubs were now dominating the possetion, but Bryn Elians defence was very strong and they forced several turnovers and thwarted several promising attacks.

There were several positives for both sides. Bryn Elians defence and rucking was very strong. Saint Davids players stuck to their task and recycled the ball very well. Jasper Bell played very well and as always dummies and sidestepped well and Archie Grant played bravely out of position on the wing bagging a lovely try close in.

Champagne Moment: Russel for a lively floated pass to launch an attack.

Harribo Hit: Oliver Hughes, several superb tackles throughout the game.

Lion: several players put their hand up and non stopped working. But Lion goes to Jasper Bell in his first season he is becoming a real attacking weapon!
