Cubs take the spoils

St Davids U14's continued thier impressive season by going into the winter break unbeaten.

Today The Cubs welcomed Ysgol Glan Clwyd to St David's College. This was the first meeting of the two schools and Glan Clwyd brought a big squad.

The game started brightly for the home team who quickly ran in two tries. The direct running of Riley and side stepping of Booth at ten proving equally difficult prospects. The opposition hit back with a length of the field run from their excellent center.

St Davids then imposed themselves with strong running from their backs and forwards alike.

The team is now playing with better fluency and they are building a good off loading game. It is also very pleasing to see the ball traveling to the wings with more regularity.

Several moments need special mention.

  1. Jamie Booths length of the pitch try from under his own posts. Superb balance and speed.

  2. Quinn Somervilles defence, immaculate and text book, as well as a stint on the wing, 9 and back row!

  3. Sean Roberts cross field kick pass for Booth to collect and score.

  • Harribo Hit: is shared between Nick Petree for a bone crunching tackle & Quinn for his try saving tackle.

  • Champagne Moment: Sion for his audacious kick pass. Real Vision.

  • Lion of the Match: Booth, marshalled his backs well, tackled, rucked and supported well. Never stopped for his team.
