Here is the winning World Book Day reading photograph! Congratulations to Jacob, Year 7, on taking a photograph that captures reading with an outstanding view.
The photograph struck a chord with English staff who judged the pictures as it really showed the wide-world and the isolation of reading independently - even though this was taken before the Coronavirus outbreak.
Congratulations to Jacob who will be receiving a certificate and book voucher in whole school assembly when we return to school.
Congratulations to all the other pupils who took part and we look forward to more reading competitions in the future.
On Thursday 5th March, St David's College was taken over by book characters ranging from Potters and Dobbies to Jack Reachers and Wallies - and everything in between.
Pupils looked fabulous in their costumes - and a few staff got involved too!
Head of English, Jennifer Turner, said: 'It's been great to see which characters the children have been influenced by and there has been a real buzz about stories throughout the day. Well done to everyone who got involved and celebrated World Book Day. A big thanks as well to all those who have donated books for the Conwy Food Bank so far too. Please keep donating up to the start of the summer term.'
Pupils have been given World Book Day tokens which can be exchanged for a free World Book Day book in most book shops, or used as a £1.00 off voucher on any book of their choice, including audio books.
The deadline for the competition for the reading in a special place has been extended to Friday 13th March, so there is still plenty of time for entries to be made to email@example.com
