Steve Williams has joined the St David’s PE department as the lead Strength & Conditioning coach. He is primarily responsible for the implication and application of strength and conditioning principles within the school across all sports.
Steve is currently also working with RGC as the North Wales and Age Grade strength and conditioning assistant as well as being the programme lead for the Llandrillo college rugby academy programme. Steve received his BSc in Sports Strength and Conditioning from the University of Gloucestershire. Whilst attending the university Steve was involved in providing strength and conditioning support for several sports. Most notably working with TASS athletes attending the university, the south west Gloucestershire under 14 netball squad and the universities Women’s Rugby Union side that won the BUCs league championship at Twickenham. Steve has also recently completed his Welsh weightlifting certification.
Head Of PE and Sport, Daniel Lycett said, "Bringing Steve into the school will really boost the students' potential, our athletes have taken to the sessions with real excitement and we will be expanding the Strength and Conditioning team as soon as we can. Sports such as rugby and fell running will see tangible results from the programmes intervention, I am genuinly excited by the addition of Steve to the team".
