Eight Spanish students spent a month at St David’s College improving their English, and when it came to go home they didn’t want to go.
Potatoes, SDC weekend’s and outdoor education were some of the things the 11 to 12-year-olds listed as being highlights of their trip. The children who hail from Escola Pia Sarria Calassanc school in Barcelona improved their language skills and made new friends at the school.
Queralt Pinto Fulla, their teacher said: “We have all had a brilliant time, and some of the children don’t even want to go home!
“St David’s have made us all feel so welcome and we very much became part of school life.
“My students were even given school uniforms, something they really enjoyed as we don’t have uniforms at home.”
Ms Fulla continued:
“The weather might not be so good here as Barcelona, but the landscape and the environment here is so beautiful.
“They have loved the food, going to the cinema at the weekend and going ice-skating.
“I couldn’t believe all the different activities that were on offer, it has put a lot of pressure on me when I go back to our school in Barcelona!”
