St David's College has continued to expand its provision for sporting success this year. Additional coaching for tennis has seen teams progress to the Area Finals and the Middle Boys pick up 3rd place. Fell running has been mentored under the expert eye of GB runner Matthew Roberts, and two internationals have been born out of this.
The 1st XV next year will benefit from continued Strength and Conditioning, led by RGC Academy Coach, Steve Williams, as well as additional time being made available for the Senior Squad next September. Additional support will come in the form of Video Analyst George Morris; George is an analyst for RGC and was part of the team that helped RGC to the Principality Cup, as well as working closely with RGC at U16 and U18.
Head of PE and Sport, Daniel Lycett said, “Bringing George on board will give us an opportunity to look professionally at our game, how our structures and systems are implemented. Our 6th Form students will also be able to access the video as evidence for their studies, giving the course a practical grounding. The end product will also be a yearly review that will give players feedback and eventually an electronic CV to assist with University application and act as evidence for club placements”.
The whole process will come together in the September of 2018 and we hope this simple but effective package will help guide our young athletes in their sporting pursuits.
