James Goodwin a year 11 studying at St David’s College has received a call up to play Under 18s regional rugby. James has had a bumper season with the school touring Georgia and reaching the semi-final of the Eyruri Cup coupled with an equally impressive cup and league wins with his club.
James has excelled in his performances and has been a mainstay of the RGC Under 16s pack.
Head of PE at St David’s College Dan Lycett said “It is testimony to James’ work ethic and focus that he has been offered this fantastic opportunity and I am sure he will be an asset to the Under 18’s as he has been to school and RGC Under 16’s”.
James will study his A levels at St David’s College and is looking forward to studying the new Sporting Performance course in particular that will start in September.
Dan Lycett lays the success at the door of community links; “James is the result of what a good club and school link can produce and it is pleasing to see players starting to move up from school to club and achieve the call to play regional rugby”
