Our new Head Boy Ted Lyons and Head Girl Olivia Maidment recently returned from the Society of Heads Senior Prefects Conference, where they learnt tips on public speaking and how to behave at formal dinners amongst other useful things.
The duo are brimming with new ideas for the year ahead, including designing the school's first ever coat of arms.
They are both boarders and are already having discussions with boarding staff on how to further improve the weekends for boarding pupils.
Olivia, 18, described why she has always wanted to be Head Girl of SDC, ever since she joined the school in Year 6.
"Jessica Pugh was my first Head Girl, and she inspired me to want to be one too."
She continued: "I liked the way she'd chat to the younger pupils and was always very approachable and that's exactly how I want to be."
"My favourite part of the day is walking along the corridors to classes and saying 'hello' to other pupils and asking how they are."
As for designing a coat of arms, Olivia explained: "I just think it's a shame we haven't got one as St David's College is such an unique school and we need to celebrate that."
Ted, 17, added: "I wanted to be a head boy as I admired Euan Williams and Max Dunford, and the way they handled themselves, I'm just determined to do the best job I can and I think Olivia and I will make a great team."
