Congratulations goes to Year Six pupil Toby, who won a bronze medal for karate at the Welsh National Championships last Sunday.
He was competing in the 10-12 age group and was one of the youngest competitors. He placed third out of 200 children. What is even more impressive is that it was Toby's first ever competition.
He took up karate to learn self-defence and to boost his confidence after he was bullied for being a dancer.
Toby said: "I dance twice a week at a dance academy in Llandudno, and I do karate over eight hours a week."
"They compliment each other, but I think at the moment I probably enjoy karate just a little bit more."
Toby is also involved in next year's eagerly anticipated production of Peter Pan, playing one of the Lost Boys.
He joined St David's in Year Five and says the school has boosted his confidence.
He said: "This school has changed my life, as nobody judges you here."
"I can be dancing my heart out on the Battlements and nobody cares, and I love that."
He added: "Until I came here I had no confidence but taking up karate and coming here has changed all that."
