Our soon to be new Headboy Max Dunford is already an excellent ambassador for the school as he runs for Wales in national and international fell-running competitions.
The Somerset native, who intends to work on the family dairy farm when he leaves school, says he’s looking forward to being Headboy as it will allow him to promote the school, he so loves.
The 17-year-old who is studying maths, geography and biology, said: “I’m very proud to have been awarded Headboy and am very much looking forward to becoming an ambassador for St David’, as I feel so passionate about the school.
“I’ve looked up to former Headboys such as Jacob Stocking and the present Euan and hope to do as good as job as them.”
Max says he hopes to be seen as a good role model for younger pupils, and for all the different years to interact with each other more.
Next weekend he’s off to the Italian Alps to represent Wales in the World Mountain Running Championships.
“I only took up running three years ago, and discovered I was quite good at it,” said Max.
“Matthew Roberts, our teacher is a massive inspiration, as he’s an incredible runner himself and takes us to all the competitions so we have plenty of opportunities to compete.
“With running you have to push yourself to your absolute limit, there is no room for excuses.”
