Following his recent blue belt grading in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he has gone on now to achieve a black belt 1st Dan in Freestyle Kickboxing. The grading session run by Sensei Adrian Wright, also featured past SDC pupil Julius Muyombya, who also achieved a black belt award.
Congratulations to both!
Just weeks later George was back in action in the World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WAKO) sponsored British Kickboxing Championship held in Birmingham on February 17.
Having won silver in this event last year, George has gone one better this time by overcoming some tough opposition to win a gold medal.
He will now go on to represent the UK in the European version of the competition.
Malcolm Bray, teacher and Kickboxing activity organiser said: “These are tremendous achievements for George and reflect all the hard work he has put in to attain such high fitness levels and impressive technical skills in different martial arts codes.
“I would also like to say a big thank you to Sensei Adrian Wright who has provided such excellent training, inspiration and support in guiding George to these fantastic achievements.”
