The First XV Rugby Team afternoon tea and awards ceremony was attended by over 90 people.
Wales Rugby Seven-star Afon Bagshaw was the guest speaker. He started playing rugby at Flint Rugby Club at the age of five. At U18's Mr Bagshaw had the honour of being selected in the 52-man Wales training squad and now plays for the RGC 1st team squad.
Amongst the award winners this year was James Goodwin for being the Players Player, Lion of the Year was awarded to Andy Mair, Most Improved Player went to Year 11 pupil Ethan Thomas, Year 12 pupil Ted Lyons and Year 13 pupil Mackenzie Best.
Dan Lycett Head of PE at SDC said: “I’m very proud of our team. Other schools always comment about our fearless style of play.
“We play in an open and expansive way, and the team always play for each other.”
“The rugby programme at St David’s will continue to grow-28 boys have already signed for XV and we’ve got plenty of fixtures coming up for next year,” Mr Lycett added.
