On a picture-perfect day SDC travelled to Colwyn Bay Cricket Club to face local school Ysgol Bryn Elian.
After being placed into bat St David’s struggled to make quick runs on the big boundary and were forced to run singles. Captain Charlie was steering the ship well and kept the score board ticking well, until he was cruelly run out. The remaining batsman picked up valuable runs, but the score was not enough for them to defend, a despite a great effort in the field and lovely catches by Gilbert and Jones as well as steady bowling throughout, Ysgol Bryn Elian were able to reach the total with four over to spare.
A mention must go to both Captains’ that ensured the game was played in a great spirit throughout especially Charlie who is only in year 7! A budding sports all-rounder in the making.
Many thanks to Ysgol Bryn Elian and we hope to get a return fixture in soon!
