Year 5 pupil Amelie decided to cut her hair shorter recently and having watched a programme on television where an ice dancer donated her hair to charity, she thought this was a wonderful thing to do and wanted to do the same.
The nine-year-old decided to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust who make and give free real hair wigs to children and young people who have sadly lost their hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses.
They need a minimum donation of 7" so Amelie made sure she cut her hair short enough for this and is donating about 9".
Her mum Sam said: “I am so proud of her for making this decision to help support another child who may be struggling not only with their illness but the added distress of losing their hair. If anyone is able to support this amazing charity with a monetary or hair donation, their website is www.littleprincesses.org.uk.
