Curriculum & Learning

Curriculum So what do we teach and, equally important, how does your child learn?

Learning skills are integral to our approach and in the junior years (7 to 9), class sizes of no more than 12 (about 8 in English & Maths) allow the individual attention you deserve. We follow the National Curriculum and a lot more besides: a choice of up to 21 subjects leading to GCSE and 17 for A-level; you’ll need our prospectus for the whole lot, but here’s a flavour:

GCSE A-Level
Art Art
Business Studies Biology
Design & Technology Business Studies
Drama Chemistry
English Design & Technology
French English Literature
Geography French
German Geography
History German
ICT
History
Maths ICT
Music Maths
Outdoor Education

Physical Education Philosophy
Sciences Physics
Welsh
Spanish

As you move into Year 10, GCSE options focus on your favourite subjects and, not surprisingly, those most likely to produce the highest grades. For more on A-levels, please click on the 6th Form.
