Sport at St David's

We offer the full range of independent schools’ sports and a few more besides. Who needs a swimming pool, when we have a brand new pool recently opened, just a stone’s throw away in Llandudno!

By its very nature, sport is competitive and nowhere is this more evident than in the regular inter-house matches and the enthusiastic (but friendly !) banter of players and spectators alike. If you’re a keen sportsman or sportswoman, opportunities abound for you in team fixtures against other schools and in representative selection at national level; currently, we have age group national champions in golf and skiing and national representatives in cross-country running – must be the mountains!

Being in Wales, of course, we play the odd bit of rugby and so far, we’ve toured in Australia, Canada, Italy and South Africa – we weren’t too sure about the Italy trip: it was based in Venice!

If you’re really serious about sport, we even offer courses at GCSE and A-level, in a balanced blend of practical assessment, coursework and written examination. And if you’re that good, we may well offer you a Sports Scholarship too!
